Canning & Freezing…
So…I have been a busy little girl over the last couple of days. I thought I would be better at keeping on top of this page, but seems to be I am struggling already.
Over Labor Day my sister, mom, and my family got together to do some canning. We canned some tomatoe juice, diced tomatoes, and peaches. I think 3 boxes of tomatoes, and a box & a half of peaches. So that was fun getting together so we have yummy things to eat this winter. After I came home from Sara’s house I made a double patch of peach jelly and pureed some peaches for baby food.
I took the kids up to my uncle’s for the weekend. The weeknd after Labor Day my mom’s side of the family always gets together. Since Billy was working out of town he didn’t join us. That was the first time I drove for the that long of a period. It wasn’t too bad. On Friday we went to Penns Cave to a huge tractor show/flea market. I got some fun tupperware containers, some stuff for the kids, and a crock to put my utensils in. It was hot but a nice time.
So today I decided to make some more baby food. I bought some lima beans, green beans and sweet potatoes. So, I cooked everything and froze them in ice cube trays. I am nervous that I am doing all of this work just for the agency to call and say that there is a relative that is interested in the baby and she will leave us. It’s a thought I am trying to not think about too much, but it is continually at the back of my mind.

New to this…
So…here I am! Brand new to the world of blogging…let’s see how often I keep this updated. I am online enough, so I should be able to stick with it.
Yesterday was a crazy day. I took the kids (Shawn, and two foster daughters which are 3 and almost 3 months) to Dutch Wonderland. My friend, Kait, had gotten free tickets and asked us to go with, so we met up yesterday for the the afternoon and stayed until the park closed at 7. I was amazed at how mny people were there for a Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. But the kids had fun. Actually they were more excited about the little buildings they have that the figures come to “life” when they push the button.
Before we met up at DW, I stopped at the Tanger Outlets so I could run into the Gap Outlet to see if I could find a sweatshirt since I forgot to pack one. I ended up getting Shawn 2 shirts and a couple of things for the girls for next summer. I spent more money than I wanted to, but the kids will be so stinkin cute.
So today I have been slowly working on cleaning up my house. I say slowly because my almost 3 month old has not wanted to be put down, which is not so helpful when needing to carry clothes up the stairs. I finally have enough dressers for each of my kids and everyone who lives in this house, so I am slowly working on organizing misc. clothes people have gotten us and that we have gotten at yard sales. With being foster parents we have gotten quite a collection of clothes of all sizes/seasons from friends/family that have really just been sitting in bags or stacked in piles in the kids room. My goal was to have it all done by tomorrow, but as this day has turned out…I don’t think it’s going to happen
Anyway…I think that’s all for now. I got to make supper and then working on some more clothes.
